50th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka and India – Joint Celebrations. The Sitar Concerto was performed in Colombo Sri Lanka and then in the Tata Theater in Bombay, India jointly by the Bombay Chamber Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka.

Followed the Bachelor of Music degree in the University of Visva Bharati, Santiniketan, India and obtained a first class distinction pass, the highest ever marks to be received for a degree in sitar in Santiniketan till then.
